Lucile Schaaf, an icon in the Old Market for over 30 years, turned this building into a magnificent display of history, from old buildings surrounding the Midwest. Inside her building you will see ceilings and walls covered in doors from the old Morris Hotel, City National Bank, the old Fontenelle Hotel.Stare into the luster of the stained glass windows from a club near Nebraska City. Marvel in the detail of the antique fire place from the old Wilcox House in Council Bluffs. Gaze through the leaded windows from the old Brandies Home.Look up to the ornate crown moldings from the old Cornhusker hotel in Lincoln and so much more. Experience the History of the Griffins.
Lucile started salvaging pieces from old buildings in the 60s.
Her goal was to make a fantastic showcase for these items and that she did.
We invite you and your guests to experience the enduring warmth & splendor of this historic building.
